SRG members build, plant, and manage the 3 edible garden areas in local Verona parks including Central park, Harriett park and Hometown Junction. On any given day in the spring and summer you can find herbs and veggies to compliment a dish you are making or maybe just a handful of beans for a snack.
Neighborhood residents often comment on how wonderful the gardens are and purposely go out of their way to view, pick and enjoy what is growing.
Every spring club members cultivate and blend a new growing medium consisting of soil, compost and composted rabbit manure to ensure the gardens have all the nutrients they need for a healthy and beautiful growing season.
Central Park
Central Park is located at the intersection of Paoli and Main Streets. The park is generously landscaped with shrubs and perennials, and has seating and paths.
Harriet Park
Harriet Park is located along Mary Lou Street, Arthur Street, Westlawn Avenue and Harriet Street on the City’s north side. It is consistently cited as the City’s most-used park.
Hometown Junction
Hometown Junction is located in downtown Verona along the Military Ridge State Trail, at the intersection of Railroad Street and South Main Street.
