What we look for
Every year, members of SRG start scouting Verona neighborhoods in July looking for gardens that have some or all aspects of the following criteria:
- Curb appeal
- Variety of plants
- Contrast of plants
- A well maintained garden
- Balance of color, texture and height
At the end of July, the winning garden is presented with the Civic Beautification Award and followed up with an article in the Verona Press.
2023 Civic Beautification Award
The Sugar River Gardeners club recognize homes that exhibit exceptional pride of ownership through well-maintained and exceptional landscaping of their property. The 2023 award was given to Robert and Chris Wiegert.
Previous years winners
Beautification Awards are presented annually to Verona homeowners who devote extra effort to their property’s beautification and maintenance. Such efforts boost the City’s curb appeal and promote a sense of civic pride. Check out all the previous years' winners of the Civic Beautification Award.
